Volunteers are integral to our organization. Since 2006 our Project Wee Care volunteers have been helped local Millard area families in need. To date we have been there for over 15,000 of our neighbors when they needed a helping hand by providing needed clothing, food, and personal care items.
In normal years we encourage volunteers to sign up to help prepare for our annual Distribution Day. However, this year, with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, Project Wee Care faces new challenges as we adapt to unprecedented circumstances. In order to ensure the safety of our community and volunteers, we've made necessary modifications to our program that we'd like to share with you.
In years past we would have canned food & toiletry drives, raise funds to purchase perishable foods, plus sponsors would adopt families and shop to supply some of the needed clothing for the children. Then all of our wonderful volunteers would come together on Distribution Day to make the PWC Magic happen.
This Year, for everyone's safety, we are not able to have our normal Distribution Day. Instead we are Virtually raising funds to provide vouchers to local grocery stores to provide needed food and toiletry items the family needs. We will also ask sponsors to make a monetary donation to provide a gift card so the parents can shop for the needed clothing for their children.
The gift cards and vouchers will be given to the school counselor that referred the family to PWC so they can be given directly to the family you are sponsoring with your donations.
